Christmas is coming. I love Christmas.
What I love most about Christmas is the PRESENTS. This is because throughout my childhood, presents were always a big deal. Therefore, due to the plethora of subconscious programming I received prior to the age of 6, presents are now my primary LOVE LANGUAGE*.
Perhaps you’d like to send me a present for Christmas**.
Perhaps not, but it was worth a try. Either way, the following wish list will be of great assistance to you because even if you decide not to buy something for ME (bah-humbug to you), perhaps you need to buy something for someone LIKE me.
* If you don’t know what a “love language” is, read this book.
**My attempt at subconscious programming
Anyhoo, here’s your shopping list. Tell your yogini girlfriend/sister/mistress I said you’re welcome.
1. DavidsTea
Oh yum. DavidsTea. Really can’t go wrong here. DavidsTea offers a bajillion different flavors of loose-leaf tea plus shipping is only $5 (free shipping for orders over $50). AND when you order online they send you 3 cute little sample tins.
My favorite tea from Davids is “Read My Lips”. Runner-ups: Toasted Walnut, Chocolate Chili Chai, Forever Nuts, Mint Chocolate Rooibos.
2. Mystic Masala Ayurvedic Products
Every day, before I sit down to write a blog, I “light up”. Not a cigarette, jackass… a candle. I light up a Mystic Masala candle.
The Mystic Masala is an ayurvedic aromatherapy company from B.C. that makes delightful candles, oils, and body bars especially for your dosha (ayurvedic body type). I never leave home without one of their travel candles and a sack of Epsom salts strewn haphazardly over my shoulder.
3. Unlearn Clothing
“KB, you must unlearn what you have learned.”
“I KNOW THAT, Yoda. I’m doing my best to ‘unlearn’ my subconscious programming. I’m trying.”
“Do or do not KB, there is no try.”
“Seriously Yoda? I’m trying to write a blog post here. Don’t make me stick that lightsaber somewhere the sun don’t shine.”
Sorry, friends. As you may have noticed, Yoda is at my house again and we’re scrappin’ it out. Damn Jedis.
ANYWAYS….
Unlearn is a wicked-awesome clothing company from Waterloo, Ontario. Their mission is to “provoke thought in the hope that it will encourage positive change”. You can see me modeling one of my many unlearn shirts in this video.
I LOVE Unlearn.
4. Escents Aromatherapy
Escents is another Canadian company (that’s 4 for 4, if you hadn’t noticed) that makes beeeeauu-tiful, deliciously yummy-smelling aromatherapy products. I LOVE their soap, especially the eucalyptus one, because it’s kinda scratchy (it’s never too late too exfoliate, my friends).
While perusing their website I noticed they have new holiday scents out. Thankfully, “reindeer farts” is not one of them.
5. Vegan Treats from Glo Bakery
Once upon a time I discovered this girl, who is a wildly successful blogger-vegan-health-nut, who runs her own vegan bakery and is very glowy. Now I don’t want to toot my own horn here, but I like to think this girl and I have a few things in common.
The weirdest thing we have in common is that this girl is from MILTON, and MILTON is where I was born and where I grew up!!! Girlz in the ‘hood, yo!
Anyhoo, you can buy her vegan yum-yums online. They’re the bomb.
6. Toesox
In Anusara yoga we do a lot of toe-lifting and an equal amount of toe-spreading. Yup, there’s an awful lot of toe-action going on in an Anusara yoga class.
As a result, my toes no longer wish to be cramped up in a normal sock like a prisoner on death row. No, my toes have demanded their freedom. Which is why I really like Toesox.
Toesox also make it possible for me to wear my Vibram shoes (see below) in the winter. You can never have too many pairs of Toesox.
7. Vibram Shoes
Onward with the toe discussion. A yogi’s toes yearn to be free. Hence, the obsession with Vibram shoes. I already have black ones and now I want the pink ones or the white ones with the gold on top. Size 41. Please and thank you. Amen.
8. The new John Friend travel yoga mat by Manduka
The word on the street is that John Friend has a new mat in town and that it’s made by Manduka. I don’t actually want this for Christmas because I already have one. But I thought you might. Because it’s awesome.
9. My Shiznit from Etsy
OK, this is where I DO get to toot my own horn.
Perhaps you didn’t know, but I like to make stuff. Especially cool yoga straps, spiritual jewelry, and the like. You can buy my handiwork on Etsy, and you can even get a discount if you enter the code, “kblovesme” at checkout (because I do. Love you, that is).
10. An iPad
What yogi in their right mind wouldn’t want an iPad??? Just think of the possibilities…
You could use it to do Yogaglo in the moonlight.
You could use display raw vegan recipes in the kitchen.
You could use it to read KB’s latest eBook.
I repeat, what yogi in their right mind wouldn’t want an iPad??

Well, that’s it my friends, that’s my yogi Christmas list. I hope it made your shopping a little easier.
So… what do YOU want for Christmas???

Great list! I had fun participating last year (or was it your birthday? Can’t remember now!)
For Christmas I could use some clothes. I lost a bunch of weight while unemployed so now I’m kinda stuck being too small for what I have and an empty bank account that won’t help me fix it!
Fashion rings. I don’t have any.
More visitors. I love hosting and my social circle mostly just goes to the one person’s place. I want my home to glow with laughter and conversation!
My parents to wake up to the diet they’re eating and the diabetes they’re worsening. I want them to cut out the chips, cheesies, Pepsi and white bread instead just using an artificial sweetener in their coffee and calling that “responsible eating” LOL!
